- To demonstrate a sideways two-footed bounce over a line.
- To be able to measure the agility bounces over 30 secs.
- Explain the importance of lower leg stability and co-ordination in sport and everyday tasks.
- To be able to work effectively alone and within a team.
The set-up for the warm-up is shown below;
Hoops were placed around the hall and the pupils were asked to get into groups of 3's. In the 3's, the pupils numbered themselves 1, 2 and 3.
Number 1's lead their groups around the hall without touching or jumping in the hoops performing;
- 2 Footed Jumps
- Side Stepping
When CHANGE was called Number 2's then took the lead and then Number 3's. Rotations were done 9 times and CHANGE was called at random times.
A new command was introduced and when the colour of a Hoop was called the pupils lead their team through a Hoop.
The stretches performed were;
Quadricep
Hamstring
Gastrocnemius
Tricep
Deltiod (STRETCH OF THE WEEK)
The group then moved into their first task. The group were then asked to get into groups of 4's and to sit in straight lines in front of me. The group were then introduced to the SPEED BOUNCE. The setup can be seen below for the task.
In 4's, the pupils were given a rounders pole, 2 pupils are sat either end of the pole holding it on the floor and the first pair from each group were stood ready to complete;
- 60 secs of bouncing over the pole.
Once completed the roles were reversed and this was completed twice through.

The group were then shown 2 examples of 2 different techniques and were asked;

Why did 1 score higher than the other?
Key Points of the Bounce:
- Bounce on your toes.
- Use your hips to twist when bouncing.
- Use the lower legs and keep feet together.
- Arms away from the body for stability.
- 30 secs of bouncing
The aim was to try and beat their second attempt. Action from the session is seen below;
